Located close to VILLENEUVE-SUR-LOT, the MAISON CENTRALE at EYSSES was partially transformed into Center for Administrative Internment.

After the serious incidents at the CAMP AT GURS (the Basses-Pyrenees), on September 25, 1943 - attacks carried out by “terrorists” who seized a stock of weapons, Rene BOUSQUET, General secretary of the Police force, decided to transfer the dangerous politics people from the CAMPS at ST PAUL-D' EYJEAUX and St SULPICE-LA-POINTE to the Jail at EYSSES.
